South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper cited unnamed industry sources, saying that Hyundai Motor will conduct joint research and development on safety and security systems for self-driving cars with cooperation from Tencent (700), that Hyundai seeks to launch commercially in 2030.

Subsequently, Hyundai Motor issued a statement denying report that the two parties signed a preliminary agreement on the cooperation of self-driving car software, and the cooperation between the two parties mainly focused on the infotainment system, providing navigation or music services on the car center console.
