The workshop will begin with a refresher of IFRS/HKFRS 17 fundamentals and key changes to financial statements. The course will then go into the details of the requirements and methodology, and main challenges insurers will face in implementing the new standard. The speakers will go through worked examples showing how IFRS/HKFRS 17 is applied in practice for sample products. The worked examples demonstrate the impact this new standard will have on companies' profit and loss account and balance sheet and highlight associated implementation challenges.
